Payment Information

What methods of payment will you accept?

For in-store purchases, we accept cash, personal checks, and debit cards. We also accept bank wires on orders over $2,500.00  We do not accept credit cards for in-store purchases. For online orders, we accept PayPal, Mastercard, or Visa. If you have any questions regarding this, please reach out to us.

Buying & Selling

I am looking to sell. Would you be interested in purchasing my collection?

Yes! We would be honored to make you a competitive offer on your U.S. coin collection or other collectibles.

We are easy to work with and will make you a no hassle offer, but we need to view the collection/items in person to make you an offer. We are not in the business to waste your time so feel free to contact us anytime with questions concerning appraisals.

How do you determine buying and selling prices for your coins and collectibles?

Our prices for buying and selling coins and collectibles come from current market prices as well as auction results for the items. We use a wide variety of credible dealer/collector resource for our pricing in the store. Prices for bullion, such as gold and silver, are determined at the time of your visit; whether you are buying or selling. 

*Due to South Carolina State Law: Purchases of Precious Metals require a holding time of 21 days.

Why do you need to make a photo copy of my Driver’s License or legal ID?

South Carolina State Law requires this as part of our precious metals permit.

Buyers and sellers of gold and silver products are not reported to any government agency (see law exception below); this is only a paperwork requirement in the event of a police investigation.  Files are maintained for this reason only. This information is confidential and we do not share this information unless required by law.

Orders

How soon can I expect to receive my order?

Orders are generally shipped out the next business day after receiving payment or sooner. Shipments typically arrive within 3 business days of being shipped, but may take up to 10 business days depending on the final destination and factors out of our control (e.g. weather). 

Your shipment may also be delayed if your order is made while we are away at a coin show. Please check our show calendar page to see what coin shows we are attending throughout the year!

How Can I Cancel Or Change My Order?

To amend or cancel your order you can reach out to us via phone (803-892-4307) or email ([email protected]) and we will be happy to assist you with your purchase. 

We recommend contacting via phone during business hours for immediate support. For questions outside of business hours, we recommend you send us an email. We generally check our email multiple times on business days. 

Do I need an account to place an order?

Placing an order with us does not require setting up a user account. However, setting up an account will allow you to more easily manage your orders, payment method, and shipping information.

Store Policies

If you are unsure of the characteristics of any item based on the title or pictures, please DO NOT purchase the item. Contact us directly so that we can help you!

Please understand that we make mistakes and accidents when listing items. We never mean to misrepresent any item or listing. Please look closely at all the pictures we provide for a given item. Keep in mind with paper money and other paper collectibles, that pinholes are often present and are sometimes not detailed. This is especially so for items that are more than 100 years old as these are a common occurrence (e.g. obsolete paper money).

If your item is purchased within a bulk listing, then your item may not look completely identical to the one shown in the pictures. Please note that bulk listed items can be different compared to one another but still fit the listing by description and grade.

 

Returns will be accepted when the entire order or shipment is returned within 14 days of receiving the item. We DO NOT give partial refunds or refunds for partial shipments (i.e. shipments that do not include all items purchased within the order).

Items that come in the original packaging and or come with original labels must be with the item and must be unopened if sealed in shrink wrap, plastic, or in a presentation/plastic/acrylic case when the item is shipped to you. 

For insurance purposes, photos must be taken of the exterior box + contents and e-mailed to us at gilbertcoins.com if the item is damaged during shipping. There are no exceptions to this policy.

Orders will generally be shipped within 3 business days after receiving payment and shipping information. If we are away at a coin show there will be a delay in shipping

Due to the large volume of coin shows we attend, all coins are subject to prior sales. Please inquire whether a coin is available before purchasing. Gilbert Coin and Collectible Exchange reserve the right to nullify the sale due to an erroneously priced item or computer generated error. Gilbert Coin and Collectible Exchange also reserves the right to update, modify or remove these Terms and Condition at any time without prior notice.
